The inaugural concert of the Children’s Choir of Iași Municipality took place on 3 November 2020. The project was initiated by Iași City Hall and was implemented by the National Atheneum in Iași, under the extraordinary guidance of Mrs. Raluca Zaharia, chairperson of the ZART Cultural Association, conductor of the RAZA Children’s Choir and of the SunnyVox choral group and conductor between 2011 and 2020 of the Children’s Choir ‘Juniors of the Opera House’, of the Romanian National Opera House in Iași.
The project is designed to unite the children of Iași through choral singing. Therefore, the choir focuses on social integration through free access regardless of social status and, implicitly, on the growth of children living in areas with a low degree of culture, in disadvantaged families, where cultural communication and interactivity are lacking.
The choir includes talented school students from the city, aged between 7 and 18 years, and will represent our city in concerts at local and national events, as well as in international themed festivals.
Since its creation, the Children’s Choir of Iași City has had numerous concerts, recorded videos and performances on regional and local radio and television stations.
