- In 2020, the National Atheneum in Iași was awarded the Royal Medal for Loyalty.
- On 28 April 2020, the President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Iohannis, signed the decree awarding the National Atheneum in Iași the Order ‘Cultural Merit’ in the rank of Grand Officer, Category F – ‘Promotion of culture’.
‘As a sign of appreciation and recognition of the exceptional role played in the intellectual and artistic life of the City of Iași, as it contributed, through a long series of events, to the reviving of national culture and imposing itself, in this way, as a symbolic institution of Romania after the Great Unification, President Klaus Iohannis conferred the Order ‘Cultural Merit’ in the rank of Grand Officer, Category F – ‘Promotion of culture’, to the National Atheneum in Iași.’
